Larry Wayne Junek, a cherished Husband, Son, Brother, Brother-In-Law, Uncle & Friend, passed away peacefully at his home after a long, valiant battle on November 12, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on February 3, 1958, in San Antonio, TX, Larry's life was a testament to the power of love, intelligence & adventure. Larry is survived by his Wife of over 25 years, Margarita Harr Junek, Brother Thomas Junek; Sister-In-Laws Laura Sanchez, Maria Flores (Richard), Marie Corral; Nieces & Nephews: Alexandria Sanchez (Christopher), Ana Sanchez, Leon Sanchez, Daniel Sanchez, Michael Sanchez (Grecia), Celeste Brunotte (Liam), Maria Lali Guerra; Great Nieces Dagny & Olive; Great Nephew Darwin; Cousin Cody Dailey (Teena) & a host of other relatives who will all remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his Father Harold Junek, Mother Charlie Junek, Sister Sandra (Sandy) Rickett, Nephew Michael, Nephew Phillip (Phil) Dalasta, Brother-In-Laws Phillip V Guerra & Richard (Rick) M Sanchez, Aunt Betty Dailey & other Aunts & Uncles. Larry's academic pursuits led him to St. Mary's University, where he studied Engineering with a passion & diligence that would come to define his career. It was this drive for knowledge & understanding that made him a respected figure in his professional life. Larry often said, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life." Larry's joyful spirit was reflected in his passions: traveling, dining, playing darts, rescuing animals & science. He also used to be an amateur race car driver. His love of cars was more than a hobby. It was a canvas for his creativity & mechanical ingenuity. Those who knew Larry would describe him as a loving, passionate man whose intelligence shone through in every endeavor he undertook. His adventurous nature was infectious, inspiring everyone around him to seek out the beauty in the world. In the words of Andy Dufresne (Shawshank Redemption) "Get busy living or get busy dying." Larry's departure leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter & memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. As we say goodbye to a man of great character & warmth, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever be in our hearts & a guiding force in our lives. In honor of Larry's enduring spirit & the profound impact he had on so many, we will cherish the memories & uphold the values he embodied. Though he may be gone from our sight, the essence of who he was will remain an integral part of our lives. Larry's life story is one of unwavering love, loyalty, intellectual curiosity & an adventurous soul that knew no bounds. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for the joy & laughter he brought to every life he touched.

The first time I met Larry was at his wife, Margarita's, 25th wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful, touching ceremony of wedding renewal vows with family & friends witnessing it. Both Larry & Margarite were glowing! I enjoyed being inviting to share this special time with them! Mary Ishler
