Larry Glenn Kemp
Carthage, MS
Larry Glenn Kemp, 73, of Carthage, Mississippi, passed away on October 16, 2025, in his home surrounded by family.
Born on February 2, 1952, in Carthage, Mississippi, Larry spent his life rooted in the community he loved. He was a dedicated heavy equipment mechanic whose strong work ethic and skill earned him the respect of those he worked with throughout the years.
Larry was a devoted member of Anchor Assembly of God and found strength and fellowship within his church community. His faith was a guiding force in his life and a source of comfort to those around him.
Family was at the heart of everything Larry did. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Kemp; daughters Twyla Jennings (Jason) of Brandon and LeAnn Stewart (Brian) of Carthage; son Glenn Kemp (Ashley) of Carthage; and brother Gilbert Kemp (Kim), also of Carthage. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Kealey Stewart, Dusty Stewart, Colby Kemp, Clayton Stewart, Brittney Stewart, and Bridget Kemp. His legacy continues through nine great-grandchildren: Addy Alford, Jaci Alford, Jon Mason Kemp, Greyson Kemp, Payton Stewart, Leland Stewart, Ava Mae Stewart, Demi Stewart, and Daci Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Arlis (Logan) Kemp; sisters Dell Woods and Betty Hughes Jackson; and brother Joe Kemp Jr.
Larry cherished time spent with his family above all else. One of his most treasured traditions was the annual family squirrel hunt and camp-a time filled with laughter, stories around the fire, and memories that will live on for generations.
A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Larry's presence brought warmth and unity to every gathering. His memory will be held dear by all who knew him.
Pallbearers: Tim Hughes, Jeff Stutts, Mark Kemp, Wayne Kemp, Butch Brooks and Eric Martin. Honorary pallbearers: Steve Moore, Danny Pat Martin, Gene Bell, Colby Kemp, Clayton Stewart, Jon Mason Kemp and Greyson Kemp.
