Larry Wayne Keys, Sr. 57, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023.
Larry was born on June 29th, 1966, in Monroe, Louisiana to Edith Mae McCloyn and Samuel Keys, Sr. He was raised by his mother and father.
Larry joined Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Clemmie Lee Bachus and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 13. He served on the usher board, helped with Sunday school, church picnics, and vacation bible study; Larry loved God.
Larry graduated from high school in 1984 and was involved with football, track, and basketball.
Larry loved to grill and bake cakes; he was an awesome cook. He also loved to play dominoes and spades especially. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his granddaughter, Avee Marie. He was an integral father figure for several children and teens throughout the community.
Larry was a hardworking, family man. He was employed at John Deere for 9 years.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Mae McCloyn; father, Samuel Keys, Sr.; brother, Samuel Keys, Jr.; and grandmother, Arzenia King.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife of 35 years, Tina L. Keys; sons, Terry Alexander Keys, and Larry W. (Kymesha) Keys Jr.; daughter, Andrea La'Sha Henderson (Christopher Williams); grandchildren, Carmine Julius-Adonis Williams, Christian Jaden-Dior Williams, Alex (Terry Keys), Avee Marie Keys; brothers, Johnny Keys and Robert Keys; sisters, Betty Jean Wilson, Beatrice Keys, Kathy Keys, and a host of extended family and friends.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Keys family during this difficult time. Larry will be greatly missed here at Monosem. He was part of our family from the beginning and everyone enjoyed being around him. His laughter, smile and song he would sing throughout the day will be greatly missed.
