Larry Taylor Lanier Sr., age 79, of Star, passed away on June 9, 2025, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.
Born on December 10, 1945, in Wake County, Larry was the son of the late John and Opal Cook Lanier. He dedicated many years of his life to Goodyear, where he worked as a technician until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Lois McNeill Lanier of the home; daughters Sonya Hussey (James); Tina Hunsucker (June); sons Larry Lanier Jr. and Christopher Lanier (Jan); and sister Joyce Hardister. Grandchildren Cory Hussey, Eric Hussey (Callie), Matthew Lanier (Brandy), Nicholas Lanier (Raegan) and Caleb Lanier. As well as five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Bright Light Baptist Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Sammy McNeill officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am. Burial will follow at New Testament Baptist Church Cemetery.
