Larry C. Lankerd, 90, of Battle Creek, passed away on January 14, 2026, at Brookdale Battle Creek. He was born on June 26, 1935, in Rutland Township, Michigan, to Claude and Naoma (Bidelman) Lankerd. Larry graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1953, where he excelled as an All-Conference and All-State swimmer. He worked at the Kellogg Company for 37 years before retiring in 1991. He enjoyed being a member of Cedar Creek Golf Club and loved hunting, fishing, and traveling, particularly in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Larry was an active member of Cornerstone Community Church for many years. On June 12, 1954, Larry married Mary J. Pallet, who passed away on January 23, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeffrey Scott Lankerd, sister Janice Kay Davis, brothers: Ronald, Jack and Russell Lankerd, and great-granddaughter Ayla Carolann Lankerd. Larry is survived by his two sons, Eric (Amanda) Lankerd and Tim (Donna) Lankerd; daughter in law: Sue (Tony) Meredith; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; his sister Judith Worthen; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Larry's life will take place at Cornerstone Community Church on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and a luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the service. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the church or the Marshall Community Foundation Ayla Lankerd Scholarship for Dreams. Arrangements by the Richard A.
