Larry William "Bill" Leander, 81, passed away on March 30, 2024 at his home in Gypsum, KS.
Larry was born on September 10, 1942 in Salina, KS to parents Richard and Berniece Johnson Leander.
Larry served in the U.S. Army.
Larry was retired as a Truck Driver from Leander Trucking in Gypsum.
He enjoyed BBQing, driving around town checking up on everyone, he never knew a stranger, enjoyed the neighborhood kids, he loved spending time with the grandkids and handing out his Leander Trucking pens. He was a member of the Salina VFW Post #1432.
Bill was preceded in death by Berniece Leander (Mother), Richard Leander (Father), Jaron Lewis (Sister), Kathryn Queen (Sister), Marla Byquist (Sister).
Larry is survived by his wife Jeanette Leander; Children Chelsy Leander of Gypsum, KS; Others: Katie Rohr (Granddaughter), Ashlynn Rohr (Granddaughter), Kenny Leander (Brother) and spouse Linda, Keith Leander (Brother).
A Memorial service will be on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM in the Assaria Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Assaria Lutheran Church Cemetery in Assaria, KS. Military Honors will be provided by the Salina VFW Post #1432. Memorials may be made to Assaria Lutheran Church; 124 W 1st St, Assaria, KS 67416 or the Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank/Serving Saline County; 255 South Chicago St., Salina, KS 67401.
