Larry Gene Leverington
May 03, 1949 – January 26, 2026
On January 26, 2026, Larry Gene Leverington (76 years old) passed away after battling cancer in Ainsworth, NE.
He was born in Broken Bow, NE in 1949 to Glenard and Irene Leverington, and attended Broken Bow schools. He was a truck driver and a Navy veteran. Larry’s first marriage was with Melody Fisher and they had two children, Danny Leverington and Angela Hall. His 2nd marriage was with Cathleen Leverington and they had two children, Shane and Sheena Leverington. He also raised one of his granddaughters, Kayla Welander (maiden name Leverington), she always called him “Granga”.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Orval and William Leverington, sisters: Marjory NewRider, Lillian Harmon, and Pearl Leverington, and children: Shane Leverington and Angela Hall.
Larry was survived by siblings: Kenneth Leverington, Don Veverka, Glenard Leverington, Myrtle (Bill) Shirkey, Robert (Evia) Leverington, Jannie (Steve) Parker, and Mary Veverka, children (Danny Leverington and Sheena Leverington). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His wish was to be cremated and not to have a service. The family has yet to decide if there will be any private ceremonies of life.
