Larry was born to Evangeline "June" Littell and Robert F. Littell at Carle Hospital, Urbana on January 7, 1957. He grew up in Champaign and attended Lottie Switzer School and Franklin Jr. High School before moving to Mahomet to attend Mahomet- Seymour High School, from which he graduated in 1975. Larry attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity. He graduated in 1979 with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

Tucson, Arizona from 1983 to 1987. Lastly, he worked the majority of his career at Northrop Grumman in
Rolling Meadows, Illinois and continued his education by earning his MBA before retiring to Florida in 2020.
His greatest joy and hobby in life was attending Indy Car races at Road America and Daytona Speedway, as well as being a spectator of various rocket launches at Kennedy Space Center from his front yard in Port Orange, FL. A special connection he had with his children was to bring them along for a weekend of camping and races at Road America. Larry enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, biking, pickleball, and golf with his wife, Carol, and good friends in both Illinois and Florida, and all around the country. He maintained many great friendships throughout the years and would often travel the country to visit close friends. Larry loved classic rock and shared his passion for music with his children. In his retirement, he was a member of Mercy Church in Port Orange, and he enjoyed being an usher at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach, as well as attending many of his son's performances with various bands. He was a proud and loving grandfather to his 3 grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his beloved parents and grandparents. Surviving him are his children, Andrew Littell (Jennifer) of Highland Park and Elizabeth Frakes (Andrew) of Lake Zurich; his wife, Carol Durrant Littell, of Palatine; his sister, Laura Littell (Kendrick Payne), of Champaign; his three grandchildren, Penelope Frakes, Oliver Frakes and Annie Littell; his former wife, Paula Council Littell.
Always eager to lend a helping hand to all, in any way he could, Larry has saved lives with his heroic gift as an organ donor.
