Brian Currier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care - Norfolk on Feb. 5, 2026.
Brian Lee Currier, 86, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Born on September 30, 1939, Brian devoted his life to his family and to the quiet, steady acts of kindness that defined his character. He is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Marian, and his son, Thomas Currier (Emily) of Prince Frederick, Maryland. He is also survived by his brother, Edward Currier (Joan), and his sister, Linda Smith.

Brian leaves behind three grandchildren-Kayla Currier, Savannah Currier, and Joshua Currier-as well as four great grandchildren: Alaya Alice, Dyxie Rose, Westyn Lee, and Wyllow Belle.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Daniel Brian and Jonathan Lee, and by his sister, Kathleen Hall.

A celebration of Brian's life will be held at Commonwealth Senior Living in Williamsburg on February 14th at noon.

Brian dedicated his life to lifting others up. Whether he was helping young girls find a place on local soccer teams, repairing toys for children whose families couldn't afford replacements, or quietly ensuring that the people around him had every chance to enjoy their lives, he gave generously and without hesitation.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Brian earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. He went on to work as a NASA contractor, contributing to a wide range of innovative projects and earning several patents along the way.

Outside of work, Brian found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. He loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, playing tennis, coaching youth soccer, and spending time in the Boy Scouts with his sons. His curiosity, patience, and steady presence shaped countless memories for the people who knew and loved him.
