Larry E. Matson

1949 - 2025

Larry E. Matson, 76, of Slickville, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. Larry was born Oct. 18, 1949, the son of the late Elmer and Eleanor (Johnson) Matson. He was a member of Grace Collective Christian Church as well as a member of the Saltsburg Masonic Lodge Williamson 431. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Larry "Bud" Matson Jr.; his sister, Linda Elliott; and his granddaughter, Lauren Byrd. Larry will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Cynthia (Merich) Matson; as well as his children, Carole Lynn Byrd of Slickville, Brian (Angela) Matson of Mamont, and Danene (Harry) Macdonald. Larry will also be dearly missed by his nephew, Raymond Wayne Bair; and many other nieces and nephews. Larry was a proud grandfather to his grandkids, Mersadiez, Adam, Noah, Landen Samatha, and Tiffany; as well as his many beloved great-grandchildren.
