Larry W. McClain, Sr. was born on January 18, 1949 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Charlie Wilbur and Alta Mae Smith McClain.
On May 6, 2017, he was united in marriage to Diane Walker, who survives.
Larry retired from Packaging Corporation of America where he worked in maintenance. He loved riding bicycles, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Larry W. McClain, Sr. departed this life on September 6, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 7 months, and 19 days.
He is survived by his wife, Diane McClain; sons, Larry Wilbert McClain, Jr and his wife Teresa and Rodney Vance McClain; stepson, Donovan Briley and his wife Marita; sister, Lois Hudgens; grandchildren, Laura Beth McClain and Dylan Boyd McClain; step grandchildren, Decaleb Briley, Brittany Deshazier and her husband Jason, Christophor Briley and his wife Allie, and Christine Crotts; and great grandchildren, Jaxon Crotts and Gracie Crotts.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Douglas McClain and Harvey Joe McClain and sisters, Dorothy Godwin, Mabel Jenning, Robbie Hanback, Wilma Austin, and Frankie Young.
