Larry Dean McLean

Larry Dean McLean, 73, of Oak Island passed away October 24, 2025 after an illness. He was born March 23, 1952, a son of Leroy Wayne and Annie Mae Wilcox McLean. Larry spent many years in the Lenoir, North Carolina Area where he was employed for thirty-two years by the Lenoir Mirror Company and volunteered with the Yadkin Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

After moving to Oak Island, he was employed for fifteen years by Bald Head Island in the Maintenance Department.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Debra Church McLean; daughters, Sonia McLean Garnes (Bradley) and Heather Dean McLean; beloved grandchildren, Gregory McLean (fiancé Shaylee), Christopher McLean and Taylor Mae Garnes; brother, Terry McLean; and sister, MaGlenda McLean Metz (Pat) as well as several grand animals.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date from the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Lenoir, NC. Burial will be in Shiloh Community Cemetery in Lenoir.
