Larry McRae Sr., affectionately known as “Footie”, transitioned from this life on August 10, 2025, at 60 years old. Larry was born on Thursday, March 25, 1965, in Harrisburg, PA to Sally Wright Strobridge and late Arthur Buddy McRae. Larry was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sally Wright, his two fathers Arthur Buddy McRae and his father Freddy Strobridge, his brother Arthur Wright and his sister, Erica Strobridge.

Larry was a graduate of John Harris High School, and served in the United State Army, at Fort Moore, Georgia. He also attended Harrisburg Area Community College, where he majored in Social Services.

Larry had a God giving talent of Carpentry, he could build a house from the ground up and tear it down and rebuild it over again. He worked for R&R Plaster and Drywall Company. He was also employed by Tradesman Construction, later deciding to start his own business “PPD”, Perfect Purpose Destiny.

Larry was a member at ANC All Nations Evangelistic Church of Harrisburg. He loved to dress up for Sunday services. When he was told your looking good his response was, “How could I not”, kissing up and down his arms. Larry loved watching the news, he could watch it all day and night. He had a deep passion for politics he often said if Donald Trump could be president so could he. Larry would wake up at 5 a.m. make his coffee and walk his two dogs Destiny and Coco. When asked what took him so long, he said that was his time spent talking with Jesus. He had so much humor, o yeah he had jokes. He was the funniest, he could make the maddest person laugh. If you were sad, he’d put a smile on your face even when you didn’t want to smile. Don't get it misconstrued, he also had a temper when he would get angry, he would bite his bottom lip, when he did that just get out the way and pray.

Larry loved his wife very much; he would tell her how much he adored her. He was so in love with his family; he called them every day to make sure that they were alright. He also called his mother every day, saying “Hello Beautiful”, and “What are you doing?”

Larry leaves to cherish his precious memories of his life journey, his devoted wife Tricelle Marlease McRae, of Harrisburg, PA, his mother Sally Wright Stobridge of Minnesota, his sister Chidima Cinthia Ann Baker, from Minnesota, Sandra Green from Harrisburg, PA, and his brother Timothy McRae, all of Harrisburg, PA. He also leaves his son Larry McRae Jr., of Harrisburg, his grandchildren Kha`mani McRae, La`rhy McRae, both of York, Zion McRae and King McRae of Harrisburg. In addition to his daughter, Johnisha Wright, son Jeffrey Brown of Harrisburg, his son Randall Brown, his daughter Jackia Mealpine and Latish Taylor all of Harrisburg.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
