Larry Melancon Obituary
Larry Joseph Melancon, 77, a native of Valentine and resident of Larose, sadly left our world on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Preceded in death by his beloved son, Lynn Michael Melancon; parents, Alicidian and Melantine Rodrigue Melancon; his sisters, RoHelen, Dora, Mary Joyce, Mae and Debra; and his brothers, Herman and Ted.
Larry is leaving a legacy through his surviving family; his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Bouvier Melancon; his loving son Rico and her cherished daughter, Alison; son-in-law, Terrence; daughters-in-law, Brandy and Addy; grandchildren, Alex, Logan, Jacke, Brant, Isabel, Nate, Brennan, Angelle and Angelique; great-grandchildren, Jacques and Harvie; brothers Linton “Tickie” Melancon and Donald Melancon; sisters-in-law, Janet, Diana and Emily and brother-in-law, Chris.
The simplest pleasure in life brought great joy and happiness to Larry. He loved quiet times at home and being with his family., His teasing and contagious personality drew many wonderful friends and coworkers. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, hard work, generosity and an unwavering faith in God.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Victory Life Fellowship Church in Lockport, LA. from 9:00am until service time. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am with burial at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Larose, LA.
