Larry Parker Moffitt, Jr., 48 of Woodford, VT, passed away on Friday May 3, 2024, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Larry was born in Bennington, VT on June 10, 1975, the son of Larry P. Sr., and Patricia (Landon) Moffitt. He was a 1994 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.
Following his high school graduation, Larry worked at National Hangar and as a para educator with the Bennington school district. He later worked as a handyman for Harley Davidson of Brunswick, NY. For many years Larry volunteered as a coach for the Special Olympics in Bennington and served as a caretaker and counselor at Silver Towers Camp in Ripton, VT.
Larry enjoyed antique cars, hotrods and motorcycles and had a collection of model cars. He enjoyed making jewelry, a hobby he was very good at.
Larry is survived by his parents, Larry Sr., and Patricia Moffitt of Bennington, a very special cousin, Julie Lauzon of Bennington, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, his close friends, Garrett Greene and Georgette Yakman, a very dear friend who was like a second father to him, Roy Squires and his extended family throughout New England. He was predeceased by his brother, Scot who passed away in 2013, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington. Contributions in Larry's memory may be made directly to the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main Street Bennington, VT 05201 to help offset the cost of his funeral expenses.
