Larry D. Moore, age 85 of Cayuga, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born in Broadlands, Illinois on August 16, 1940 to the late Alfred "Doc" and Bertha (Chapman) Moore.
Larry graduated from Tangier High School in 1958 and proudly served his country in the United States Army. On March 28, 1964 he married the love of his life, Jackie (Hawn) Moore, she survives.
Larry dedicated 30 years of his life as a millwright and machinist at General Motors. He took great pride in his work, but his true passions extended far beyond the factory floor. Larry was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life-fishing, hunting, and camping. He cherished traveling and often embarked on journeys filled with laughter and storytelling, creating memories that his family will hold dear forever.
Larry was an avid supporter of his grandchildren, never missing a chance to attend their sports activities. His enthusiasm for dirt track racing showcased his adventurous spirit. Family was at the heart of Larry's world, and he loved creating moments that brought everyone together.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jackie; three children, Larry (Christina) Moore, Mitzi (Darrell) Eppert, and Jeff (Danielle) Moore; eleven grandchildren, Lindsey, Kyle, Justin (Brittany), Curtis, Krista (Justin), Trevor (Sky), Austin (Sami), Clayton, Danyel, Dallas, and Payton; nine great grandchildren, Baya, Marli, Knox, Sebastien, Dylan, Izabella, Atayven, Kit, and Pearl; two sister-in-law's, Melba Moore and Mary Jo Martin; a brother-in-law, Bill Hawn; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Charles Jackson; five brothers, Alfred, Ernest, Paul, Clifford and Terry Moore; a sister, Darlene Stucker; a brother-in-law, Sam Hawn; and two sister-in-law's, Donna (Wiley) Laws and Kandia Hawn.
