Larry Joe Morgan, 80, of Watkinsville, GA died on April 20, 2025. The son of the late Joseph Allen and Thelma Morgan, Larry spent his childhood in Ashburn, GA.
Larry is preceded in death by his sister Peggie Powell and his cherished son, Sean Morgan. Larry is survived by his wife, Dell Morgan, his daughters Grace Morgan, Emily Morgan, Jorden Wiley (Corey), and his son Marcus Morgan (Hart). As a proud grandfather, Larry was blessed with five grandchildren, Maggie, Julianna, and Sean Morgan along with Grayson and Olivia Wiley, his memory will forever live in their hearts. He is also survived by his brothers, Allen Morgan (Joyce) and Gene Morgan (Betty).
Larry served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1965 until 1967, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart award. When Larry returned home from Vietnam, he went to work for Noland Company and in 1976 he opened his own branch of Winnelson in Douglasville, GA. He then proceeded to open 24 other Win companies in the Southeast and became one of the most successful owner/presidents in the company. Larry was also recognized as “The Area Chairman Who did the Most” and received the Dick Schiewetz Primus Trust Award, for the work he did in helping these 24 companies succeed. After retiring from Winnelson, Larry opened Covenant Supply with his son/partner and ran that as a successful company for many years. In 2010, Larry sold Covenant Supply and retired to Madison, GA with his wife and daughters.
Larry leaves behind a legacy as a successful businessman, but his greatest accomplishment was his unwavering love for the Lord, which inspired everyone around him.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 4PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2PM until 4PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or Parkinson Foundation.
