Obaugh Funeral Home, Inc. - McDowellLarry Nelson Morris, age 76, of McDowell, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025 at his home.
He was born February 17, 1949, a son of the late Ray and Connie Faye (Garber) Morris. On September 14, 1973, he married Sharon Elaine Puffenbarger.
A retired truck driver, Larry had also worked as a heavy equipment operator and well driller. A simple man, Larry was known to always help others, was good natured, and enjoyed joking around. Above all, he will be remembered as an ardent Trump supporter and certainly “one-of-a-kind.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Morris; and brother, Donald Morris.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years are a son, Travis Morris of Fort Defiance; and grandchildren, Scott Morris of Fort Defiance, Kyle Bradley of Glens Falls, NY, and Courtney Morris of Portland, OR; a great grandchild, Weston Bradley; as well as sisters-in-law, Sandra Blythe of Swoope, Brenda Geiger and husband, Jim of Gloucester and Janet Morris of Fort Defiance.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, with pastor Jimmy Oliff officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens, 1921 Shutterlee Mill Rd, Staunton.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Armstrong, Carl Harris, Justin Boyd, Nathan Propst, Eddie Michael, Fred Whitelaw and Kyle Obaugh.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, Donation Processing Center, P.O. Box 70360, Philadelphia, PA 19176-0360.
