Larry Mortimer, 79, of Eagle River, WI, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
Larry was born April 29, 1942, in Elgin, IL to Richard and Thelma Mortimer. After graduating from Crystal Lake High School, he enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 117.
He married his wife, Kathryn Stapel on June 28, 1975. Following their marriage, they raised their family in Marengo, IL. After 33 years they moved to EagleRiver, WI.
Larry is survived by his wife: Kathryn Mortimer; children: Scott (Jaclynn) Mortimer of Marengo, IL, Melissa Mortimer of Appleton, WI, Lawrence (Carole) Mortimer of Woodstock, IL; grandchildren: J Mortimer, Addison Mortimer, and Carmela Mortimer; siblings: Jerry Mortimer, Rod (Krista) Mortimer, and Lisa (Tony) Sigo; many nieces, nephews and other family and many friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ken (Isabel) Mortimer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 223 Silver Lake Rd., Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. followed by a church service at 3 p.m. There will be a celebration of life in the summer. Details will be announced at a later date.
Memorials can be made out to: One Fish at a Time and sent to Carpenter Lake Association, P.O. Box 1883, Eagle River, WI 54521.
