Funeral service for Larry A. Murphree, 84, will be Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Ray Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Antioch UMC Cemetery in Oneonta. Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Murphree passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born September 4, 1939, in Blount County, to Dwight L. Murphree and Edith McWaters Murphree.
Mr. Murphree was employed by Award Graphics in sales and retired in 2019. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club for 38 years, a member of FUMC of Hartselle and was a member of Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce and active in those capacities for many years. He was also a Board Member for the Tabernacle Camp Meeting, loved playing golf, was a big Auburn fan and loved doing for others. He was a very caring person. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lynn Murphree.
Survivors include
Wife of 62 years - Saundra Haigler Murphree
Son - Lee Allen Murphree (Gracie)
Daughter - Leesia Ann Johnson
Brother - Randall Murphree
Sister - Gail Pinergar
Four Grandchildren - Justin Cano (Marissa), Crista Goodwin (Brandon), Ashley Travis Hall (Adam) and Dominic DeMasi
Six Great Grandchildren - Lyah Goodwin, Layney Goodwin, Ayden Goodwin, Sophie Hall, Calder Hall and Logan Hall
Sister-in-law - Sharon Murphree
