Larry James Nicholson, son of Orville and Frances (Douglass) Nicholson was born on June 3rd, 1943 in Kansas City, MO and departed this life on August 31, 2025 at his home in Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 82 years, 2 month, and 28 days of age. In his youth he started school in Kansas City, MO before the family moved to Monett, MO where he graduated from Monett High School in 1961. After High School he attended Southwest Missouri State College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1967. Larry and Pat were classmates at Monett. Larry's family owned the Ozark Beauty Feeds in Monett. Pat's father worked for the Frisco Railroad based in Monett. Larry and Pat started dating in High School. The two were united in marriage on April 22nd, 1961 and to this union two children were born, all of whom survive him. In 1967 Larry and his family moved to Charity, MO to join Larry's father in the management of a farm called Agriprize Inc. eventually purchasing the livestock and leasing the farm from the corporation. In 1979 they moved to a smaller operation just outside of Buffalo, MO where he resided until his death. In addition to the farm, Larry continued working over the years in a number of sales positions before joining Redneck Trailer Sales in Springfield, MO where he worked 25 years before retiring in 2013. Larry became a member of the First Methodist Church of Monett in 1955, and after moving to Charity he attended Charity Christian Church until the time of his passing. Larry enjoyed all things sports, didn't matter what sport it was. He even participated in motorcross well into his 40's. He enjoyed watching his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids playing sports. He enjoyed hunting, skeet shooting, traveling (as long as he could drive and not fly), and reminiscing with friends old and new. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Frances Nicholson; and two sisters Wilma Nicholson, and Linda Buffington. He is survived by his wife Pat Nicholson of the home; his daughter, Tammy Atteberry of Buffalo, MO; his son, Terry and Karen Nicholson of Lakewood Ranch, FL; six grandchildren, Tessa and Matt Wommack of Buffalo, MO, (Twins) Duane Atteberry and fiancé Saige Butler of Bolivar, MO and Corey and Hannah Atteberry of Brumley, MO, (Twins) Brendan and Carli Nicholson of Apollo Beach, FL and Kelly Nicholson of Gainesville, FL, and Connor Nicholson and his fiancé Olivia Potthast of Tampa, FL; seven great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Bella, and Clayton Wommack, Emma and Evelynn Atteberry, Dennis Atteberry, and Trevor Nicholson; and his canine companion, Bonnie; along with a host of nieces and nephews, family members and friends who will all truly miss him.
