John D. Sperandio

John David Sperandio, 81, of Monett, passed away unexpectedly due to a farming accident on August 21, 2025, with his best companion, Millie, by his side. He was born June 26, 1944, at St Vincent's Hospital to Dominic and Theresa Sperandio. John graduated with the class of 1962 from Monett High School.

John married Linda Ghan on August 28, 1970, and spent the last fifty-five years together. He was a loving father to David of Verona MO, Annie of Kremmling, CO, Sara and her friend, Diane of Benson, AZ and Julia Carr and husband Richard Carr of Aurora, MO. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Judy Marshall and her husband David of Monett, MO; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers and sisters, Edward, Don, Virginia, Evelyn and Alberta.

John was a lifetime farmer and his favorite place to be was in the fields with his cattle. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Monett Rural fire department for over twenty-five years. He served his country honorably as a member of the Missouri National Guard from 1968-1974. He also served his Lord and Savior faithfully and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Verona, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Buchanan Funeral Home with Father Rahab Isidor officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions have been suggested to Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
