Bob Bremer

Robert Frederick "Bob" Bremer, age 78, of Monett, MO, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Mt. Vernon Place Care in Mt. Vernon, MO.
Bob was born on January 23, 1947, in Monett, MO, the son of Oscar and Mabel (Schoen) Bremer. Bob attended and graduated from Trinity Lutheran grade school, then on to graduate from Monett High School. Bob joined the National Guard after high school and served 14 years. He worked at Jumping Jacks (later Monroe & Co.) for 33 plus years until it closed. He then went to Schreiber's in Mt. Vernon and worked 12 years before retiring to work as a cattle farmer on the family farm. He loved the farm life and his cows, as anyone who knew him can attest to. Brittany, our daughter, was the joy of his life and he was pretty fond of her husband, Ryan, as well. Ryan also enjoyed the farm life for a few summers when Bob was showing him the ropes and Bob sure enjoyed his help. Bob attended Trinity Lutheran Church all his life
On August 3, 1973, in Wheaton, MO, Bob married Janice Diane Kelly. They celebrated their 52th wedding anniversary this past year.
Bob is survived by his wife of the home, Jan; one daughter, Brittany Rhodes and husband Ryan of Springfield, MO; two step-grandchildren, Elsa and Slade Rhodes; and a host of extended family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by, his parents; and one sister, Janie Bremer.
Funeral services for Mr. Bremer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt. Reverend Jake Sletten officiating. Interment in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the LWML-Ladies Aid or Freistatt Lions Club. Arrangements are under the personal care of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
