Nancy Bremer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory on Feb. 20, 2026.
Nancy Ann Bremer, 83

Nancy Ann Bremer passed away on February 11, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1942 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Clarence "Bo" Charkowski and Lucille Luker. A resident of Okeechobee, Florida for only three and a half years; but was still proud to be a Michigander. She was a proud mom that encouraged her daughters in ballet, bowling, and even coached their softball team. She loved fishing in the lakes in Michigan and Okeechobee and soaking up the sun in Florida. She enjoyed being a dog-mom but loved being a great-grandmother even more. She had the attitude that everything in life was an adventure.

Mrs. Bremer was preceded in death by her husband, John Bremer; parents, Clarence "Bo" Charkowski and Lucille Luker; brother, Larry Charkowski; and nephew, Kevin Charkowski.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Izzo (Izzy), of Okeechobee, Florida, and Jody Evers (James), of Stuart, Florida; grandchildren, Justin Northrop (Annaliese), of Stuart, Florida and Alicia Steidel (Doug), of Port St. Lucie; four great grandchildren, Cameran Steidel, Brianne Steidel, Gage Steidel and Justin Northrop, Jr.; stepsisters, Deb Walsh (Dick Kay), of Grand Rapids, MI; and nieces, Sue Charkowski, of Plainwell, MI, and Robin Charkowski, of Crozet, Virginia.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at Okeechobee Healthcare Facility for their exceptional care, compassion, and support as they lovingly cared for Nancy for almost three years.

There will not be a formal service, only a family gathering.
