Larry Dale Noggle

Larry Dale Noggle, 82, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:59 am May 14, 2024 at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born June 12, 1941 in Newport, Indiana to the late Forrest and Ruth (Downs) Noggle. Larry married Susan (Phillips) Noggle on April 6, 1968 in Danville, Illinois.
In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Larry is survived by his son, Scott Noggle and wife, Karen of Iuka, Illinois; daughter, Tammy Ziegler and husband, Jason of Loogootee, Indiana; grandchildren, Reed Ziegler and fiancée, Kim Bough of Jasper, Indiana, Blake, Ethan, Easton, Mya, Berkleigh, and Khaleesi Ziegler of Loogootee, Indiana, Alexis Noggle and fiancé, Arthur Tinge of O'Fallon, Illinois, Emily Gerkin of Lebanon, Illinois, and Zachary Noggle and fiancée, Krista Bass of Lebanon, Illinois; great-grandchild, Oakley Ziegler of Jasper, Indiana; brothers, Ronald Noggle and wife, Linda of Georgetown, Illinois, Rex Noggle and wife, Diane of Cayuga, Indiana, and Edwin Noggle and wife, Debra of Greenville, Illinois; sisters, Violet Pintar and husband, Roy of Georgetown, Illinois and Diane Miller and husband, John of Columbus, Indiana; sister-in-law, Patricia Noggle of Georgetown, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and his precious dogs, Skippy and Chipper.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Troy Noggle and brother, Vernal Noggle.
Mr. Noggle proudly served his country in the United States Army. Larry worked at Standard Oil Company where he delivered fuel to farmers and later worked as head of maintenance at McKendree University. He had a strong work ethic and was a member of Boyd Christian Church. He loved to fish, garden, woodworking, building furniture, farming, and raising cattle. Larry was an outdoorsman with a great sense of humor. He coached baseball for children in his younger years. Above all, Larry loved and treasured his wife.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Boyd Christian Church at 19844 North Boyd Lane, Dix, Illinois 62830. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Darryl Bolen officiating. Interment will follow at Boyd Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Larry's honor to American Cancer Society or Boyd Christian Church.
