BISMARCK - Larry Gene Olson, 79, Bismarck, N.D., passed away peacefully on the morning of August 27th, 2025. He was born in Powers Lake, N.D., on March 6th, 1946.
Larry graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1964. He attended North Central University in Minneapolis, Minn., and graduated in 1968.
Larry did Lay Pastor work for several small churches in N.D. throughout the years. While living in Bismarck he led Sunday services and bible studies for several nursing facilities.
Larry traveled extensively throughout his lifetime. He visited China, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, England, Wales, Scotland, Netherlands, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Israel, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, The Caribbean, and other countries as well as travels throughout the United States. He loved to ski during his winter travels.
Larry worked for 34 years for the N.D. State Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Bismarck until his retirement in 2011.
Larry was preceded in death by an infant sister, Roberta; his parents, Kenneth and Julia Olson; and his brother, John Olson.
He is survived by his sisters, Lois Hessler and Connie Biggs; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service with friends and family will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 6th, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
