On the morning of Monday, September 22, 2025, Larry Lynn Owens, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 74.

Larry was born in Bonham, Texas, to John Cecil and Lela Owens on October 26, 1950. His love for baseball began in childhood, playing Sandlot ball across the street from his family home. He went on to graduate from Dallas Baptist University with a double major in theology and history, a reflection of both his intellectual curiosity and his deep faith.

Larry dedicated over 20 years of his career to Maxwell Paper, retiring in 2020. Throughout his life, he was known for his warmth, his steadfast devotion to family, and the joy he found in music, sports, and the company of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Annette. He is survived by his children and their families: Jonathan and his wife, Becky, with their children Garrett and Madison; Chris and his wife, Jennifer, with their son Tristan; and Stephanie and her husband, Sam, with their daughters Emma, Olivia, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy and Bryan, and their families.

A public memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5th, at Colonial Funeral Home in Irving, Texas, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
