A 1956 graduate of Stafford High School, Larry enjoyed all sports, with baseball as his favorite. He was named the Stafford County Sportsman Club's 1955 Outstanding Athlete. He was a long-time fan of the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles. Larry was a machinist for the Night Vision Lab at Fort Belvoir until his retirement in 1994. He loved hunting for deer and rabbits with his brothers, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Clark Patton and Leathie Ennis Patton; and two brothers, Dodie and James Patton. He leaves behind two daughters, Teresa D'Orazio (Brian) of Stafford County and Kim Penick (Chuck) of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren, Seth Penick (Amanda) of Exton, Pa., and Kelly Penick of Fredericksburg; and one great-grandson, Lee Penick of Exton, Pa. Also surviving are three sisters, Jean Mastropietro of Lake Forest, Calif., Aleen Donald, and Joyce Payne of Stafford County; and a brother, Ted Patton of Reedville.

At Larry's request, he will be scattered along the Blue Ridge.

To all the family. I´m deeply sorry for your loss. I knew Larry through my Dad (Kurt Villhauer) who he worked with at Fort Belvoir, through my first husband (David Wayne Dickinson) and his family and from growing up in Hartwood. He was such a pleasure to know. I´m so deeply sorry for your loss. I pray you find comfort among each other during this difficult time and God graces you with peace in your hearts.
