Larry Frank Paul

Larry Frank Paul was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1950. He grew up in Berwyn and Fox River Grove and attended the University of Wisconsin, earning a degree in Chemical Engineering. He started his career at the Institute of Gas Technology; he then joined Liquid Carbonic which later became Praxair, where he ultimately retired from.

His friends and family depended on him for his ability to fix just about anything. He was using his skills towards his dream of building a house in Minnesota. He loved nature, hunting, dogs, classic rock, Czech beer, fishing and most of all his family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth; daughters, Anna and Julia; his son-in-law, Alan; and his grandson, Greyson Paul. Larry was especially looking forward to taking Greyson out fishing in Minong and on Big McCarthy Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edna.

His memory lives on through the family he loved and who loved him--his wife, children, grandson, and sister, Joset; his siblings-in-law, Cindy (Walt), John (Sharon), and Susan (Rick); nephews Chris (Brenna), Rob (Jen), Ryan (Dawn), Brett (Kim) and Tom (Kathy); and their children, Owen, Kate, Amelia, James and Henry.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, his family invites you to honor his passion for nature by contributing to WTTW for their excellent nature documentaries, or Ducks Unlimited, whose mission protects habitats for North America's waterfowl.
