Larry Peterson, 84, of Darlington, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 26, 2025 at SSM Hospice in Monroe, Wisconsin. Born in Stoughton, Wisconsin, Larry led a life filled with hard work, adventure, and love for the outdoors.

Larry dedicated 49 years of his life to Wisconsin Power Light/Alliant Energy, where his commitment to his work was matched only by his deep appreciation for nature. A true outdoorsman, Larry found joy in hunting, fishing, and trapping, spending countless hours in the wild that he so cherished.

Above all, Larry was a devoted family man. He and his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Peterson, shared a loving marriage that lasted 62 years. Together, they raised three children-Todd Peterson of Salem, Wisconsin, Kristin Peterson (Christopher) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Chad Peterson of Darlington, Wisconsin-and were blessed with grandchildren Hunter Peterson (Juliet) of Newport, California, Gunner (Grace) Peterson of Burlington, Wisconsin, and Tanner Peterson of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

Larry's life was one of quiet strength and deep affection for his family and friends. Whether he was gathering with loved ones or quietly enjoying the serenity of the outdoors, Larry's spirit was one of kindness, loyalty, and dedication. His presence will be sorely missed, but his legacy lives on through the memories he created with those who were lucky enough to know him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Geraldine Peterson, and his sister, Sharon Lilja.

In keeping with Larry's wishes, no visitation or services will be held. The family asks that you honor his memory in your own quiet way, as he would have wished.

Larry's family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff at SSM Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days.
