ORANGE - Larry Pike, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on October 22, 2024, in Orange, Vermont, at the age of 58. Born in Hanover, New Hampshire, Larry lived a life filled with music, adventure, and love.
Larry was a born musician, gifted with the voice of an angel. His passion for music started at a very young age as he was surrounded by a family that had a deep passion for country music. He did not know growing up that he would become the accomplished musician that he was. His ability to play and sing was second nature to him. His family's band name was Country Hustlers. Here he gained his knowledge of what was needed to be a part of a band, as many family members would add their talent to the band throughout the years.
During his teenage years, Larry expanded into country rock music with the band Headway, where he also learned to run all of the sound equipments. As a perfectionist, Larry always ensured an excellent sound. After a few years, the band decided to play rock music and changed their name to Nasty Habits. Wanting to incorporate classic rock alongside their own music, the band later evolved into Lionheart. This trio of band members would remain together for nearly 50 years until they reluctantly retired.
Larry's desire to play in a band never waned, and he formed a new band called Contagious. Music was one of Larry's greatest passions. He was not just a musician but an entertainer, earning the respect and admiration of his peers. Playing and performing brought him immense joy, and he always had a sparkle in his eye and a large smile on his face when on stage. Wherever Larry is now, he's doing what he loves-playing music-and he would want us all to do the same
Outside of music, Larry had a deep love for snowmobiles and muscle cars, living life with a sense of adventure and fun. He was known for his kindness, humor, and tireless work ethics-traits that endeared him to everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
A celebration of Larry's life was held on October 27, 2024, at his home, where family and friends gathered to honor his memory. The love and support shown that day meant the world to his family, and they know Larry would have cherished seeing all his loved ones together.
He was preceded in death by his son Adrian, his parents Maxine and Horace, and his sister Linda. Larry is survived by his cherished wife Sharon and his wonderful children Nicholas, Kassandra, Courtney, Cecil, Artie, Kalen and his loyal companion, Zeus. His love and pride extended to his grandchildren Brooklynn, Garrison, Sophia, Jahlani, Kaiya and Marquis who brought immense joy to his life. Larry leaves behind a large and loving family, including his siblings Connie, Sharon, Debbie, Pat, Mike, Doug, Brenda, and Hod. His family was central to his life, and his vibrant spirit will continue to live on in their hearts.
Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, music, and family will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Larry. You are forever loved and never forgotten.
