Larry Junior Presnell

Larry Junior Presnell, age 77, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 16, 2026.

Larry was born on June 5th, 1948 to Charles and Pearl Waldroup Presnell. He worked for Price Well Drilling a number of years before branching out into his own business, Presnell Pump Company. He also owned Presnell Nursery in which he grew beautiful rhododendrons and azaleas.

Larry is preceded in death by his partner of 23 years, Kay Piper Pearson, twin daughters, Angela and Leslie, his mother Pearl, his father Charles, and brother Gary. He is survived by his two children, daughter Jennifer Presnell Urzen and son Kevin Presnell, sister Brenda Rich, 3 nephews (Shane Rich, Brad Rich, and Brett Rich (Elizabeth), 4 grandchildren (Jordan Reagan, Zack Dewell, Ryan Presnell (Dawn), and Ian Presnell) and 2 great-grandchildren (Henry and Lincoln).

Larry was an avid Tarheel basketball fan and loved watching the games on TV with his partner Kay. He loved gardening and growing his own vegetables. He dearly loved his pets, his dog Pip and cat Max.

There will be no service at his request. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
