Larry Rabidue, 82
Lehr (Larry) Rabidue
February 23, 1943 – July 3, 2025
Larry Rabidue of Eureka, Montana, passed away on July 3, 2025, surrounded by memories of a life well lived. Born February 23, 1943, on his family's sheep ranch in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, Larry was raised with strong family roots and a deep connection to the land.
At age 7, his family moved to the Half Moon area of Columbia Falls, Montana, where he attended a one-room schoolhouse and began a lifelong relationship with Montana's wild beauty.
Larry proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and the Montana National Guard, carrying with him a quiet strength and sense of duty throughout his life. He was one of four siblings and remained closely connected to his family over the years.
In 1964, Larry married Carol Burns, with whom he shared many years and children. Later, in 1991, he found love again with Kelly Wilkins and welcomed his youngest son, Hunter. He was the proud father of seven children and found deep joy in watching his family grow. Larry and Kelly eventually made their home in Eureka, Montana, where he lived near Hunter and close friends Anthony and Jackie Lopera.
An outdoorsman at heart, Larry found peace and purpose in hunting, fishing, and being in nature. He was also a devoted Las Vegas Raiders fan and was remembered for his quick wit, laid-back nature, and deep love for those close to him.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Rabidue and Dorothy Frerich; his sister Carol Mae; and his children Lynette and Billy.
He is survived by his sister Margorie Holmes and brother Bob Rabidue; Carol Burns-Franklin and Kelly Rabidue; his children Shane Rabidue, Larry (Sheila) Rabidue, Jerry (Wanda) Rabidue, Carol Mae (Phil) White, Hunter Rabidue; and Jaime (Dana) Polledo, whom he considered a son. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who became like family.
The family invites you to remember Larry in your own way-whether through a quiet walk in the woods, a cast into a peaceful stream, or simply by sharing a story and a smile.
