Larry Rigby

Walter "Larry" Rigby, age 74, passed away February 14, 2026, at Memorial Health in Savannah after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County, born June 26, 1951, to the late Walter B. Rigby and Mary Simmons Rigby. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Riley and Gerald Rigby; his sisters, Geraldine Taylor and Mary Frances Wade.

He was retired from the trucking industry after many years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Medders Rigby; sons, Jamie Rigby (Denise), Ken Rigby (Michelle), Chris Rigby (Kealey), and Cory Rigby; daughter, Hannah Rigby; brothers, Tony Rigby (Sheryl), Donnie Rigby, Carl Rigby (Florence), and Roger Rigby (Pat); sisters, Judy Anderson (Michael), Angie Rigby (Roger), Linda Medders (Joe), and Debbie Lee (Gordon); and personal chauffeur, Shawn Holton; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 2 PM in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Music and Rev. Daniel Eason officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers include Joshua Rigby, Matthew Rigby, Cameron Rigby, Slade Rigby, Dusty Andrews, and Shawn Holton.

Honorary pallbearers include Danny Moore, Tony Thrift, and Hipp Boatright.
