Larry Otho Rohner Sr., age 77, of Grand Blanc, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. A funeral service will take place 12:30 PM, Friday, June 20, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial and military honors will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until the time of service Friday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to The Wounded Warrior Project.
Larry was born on May 28, 1948 in Flint the son of the late John and Catherine (Keenan) Rohner. He graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, class of 1967. Following high school, Larry enlisted into the United States Army, proudly serving from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1970. Larry met Diane Winegardner, they dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on August 5, 1972 in Flint. He worked in quality control for GM for 30 years before his retirement in 2006. Larry was a member of the VFW 2945 in Sandusky. He loved spending time with his family and the lights of his life, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his free time, Larry enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping and riding his side by side.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Diane; children, Randy (Tabitha) White, Shanna Schell, Tammy Rohner (Eric Long), Larry Jr. (Jill) Rohner, Melissa (Jason) Rosser and Kristy (Jeremy) Degeneffe; grandchildren, Carmen (Corey) Mohr, Holly (Jon) Dueweke, Jordan Rosser, Morgan (Tony) Rosser and Richard (Rebecca) Sanchez, Cody (Emily) Sanchez, Myleigh Rohner, Teaghan Rohner, Hayden White, Jensen White, Nikki (Justin) Bannister; great-grandchildren, Wayne, Owen, Colton Mohr, Braxton, Destyn Sanchez, Braelyn, Waylon Nugent, Wilder, Layla Dueweke, Joylynn, Blaine, Charlie Bannister, Carter Schell; brother, Richard Rohner; sister, Linda Moreau; stepsisters, Connie LaFlorest and Cheri Turner; honorary son, Robert (Leslie) Garcia; and honorary daughter, Nikki Olds.
