Werner Boelk, of Algonac, passed away on February 19, 2026 at his home. He was 73 years old.
Born March 14, 1952, in Essen, Germany. He was the son of Hans and Johanna (Huiskes) Boelk. Werner was a retired electrician who worked for Motor City Electric, where he worked on several large projects such as the Ambassador Bridge as well as Comerica Park. He was a boy that was born in Germany and journeyed through life to Canada and then the United States. He loved sports, talking politics and enjoyed playing dice and cards.
Werner is survived by his son, Richard Boelk and wife Nicole; his daughter, Katherine Courtney and husband Chris; five grandchildren Jaxon Boelk, Nevaeh Boelk, Adam Ducharme, Jacob Courtney and Brendan Courtney and his wife Taylor; one great grandson Garrett Courtney; four sisters, Ute Lemieux, Barbara Ashby, Christel Roselle and Doris Schuster as well a numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Boelk and his parents.
Cremation has taken place and private family memorial will be held.
