Larry Lee Ruark, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 22, 1959, in Louisville to Rodger and Mary Ruark.
Larry was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle whose warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable way of making others feel welcome through his kindness, humor, and memorable stories.
Larry dedicated over 18 years of service as a valued employee of UPS and faithfully served for more than 26 years at Southeast Christian Church as part of the security team. A devoted Christian, Larry found great purpose and joy in serving God and others, living out his faith through quiet dedication and genuine care for those around him.
A true foodie, Larry had a connoisseur’s love for steak, shrimp, and seafood, especially enjoying trips to Florida where he could relax on the beaches and sample all the seafood he could handle. In his spare time, he was an enthusiastic supporter of his beloved UK Wildcats and treasured every moment spent with the love of his life, his wife, Cindy.
Larry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His faith, kindness, and joyful spirit leave a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Rodger Ruark.
Left to cherish his memory, Larry is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Horsley Ruark; son, Corey Wayne (Samantha); grandson, Sawyer Wayne; mother, Mary Birkhead Ruark; brothers, Gary Ruark (Paula) and Barry Ruark; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Larry Ruark will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 11 AM to 2 PM, at the funeral home.
