Larry Earl Sanders

Larry Earl Sanders, 82, of Black Oak, AR, passed away on October 24, 2025, at Monette Manor, surrounded by his loving family. He was a 1961 graduate of Caraway High School and a longtime member of Monette First Baptist Church.

He married the love of his life, Diana Ruth Bunting, and together they shared 61 wonderful years. They raised three sons and built a home filled with love, laughter, and faith. Larry adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment with them.

Born and raised on the family farm in the Hancock community, Larry spent his life farming and working hard. He also worked for ten years at Nucor Yamato Steel, where he cared deeply for his coworkers and engineered ways to make the workplace safer.

Larry loved life and was always ready for an adventure. He had a lifelong passion for traditional archery, which he shared freely with others, teaching and inspiring young and old alike. He also loved baseball-whether playing as a young man, tossing wiffle balls with his grandkids, or cheering on his beloved Cardinals.

One of the most kind, generous, and godly men you could ever meet, Larry loved everyone-and that's why he was loved by everyone. His faith in Jesus guided every part of his life, and he was always looking for opportunities to serve and care for others.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; their three sons, Shannon (Jerri Lyn), Nathan (Jill), Heath; five grandchildren: Jacob (Kaley), Evan (Madison), HD (Olivia), Bryton, and Emmie; and three great-grandchildren: Maggie, Declan, and Jackson. Also survived by two sisters, Brenda Houchin and Linda Dowless; several loving nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Dean and Nayrene Calvert Sanders.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at Leachville First Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 29. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. and the funeral at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Caraway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monette First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 384, Monette, AR 72447.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love, laughter, faith, and servant's heart.
