Larry Lawrence Schenck, beloved husband, dad, papa, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 19, 1948, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Larry lived a life marked by kindness, integrity, and devotion to his family. Larry graduated from Tenino High School, before proudly serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he graduated from Central Washington University. He went on to build a long and respected career in Washington state government, retiring from the Department of Labor and Industries where he was a revenue officer and a regional supervisor. Larry was known for his generosity, infectious humor, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether sharing stories, coaching a team member on the field or in the workplace, rescuing a stranded family member, or simply enjoying time with loved ones, he brought warmth and joy to those around him. His guidance was often wrapped in humor, with his signature phrase, "Just remember, rule number 23..." serving as both advice and a reminder that life, while serious, could always be approached with a bit of levity and heart. Outside of his career, Larry pursued numerous interests. He loved camping, soccer, taking his dogs for a walk, and traveling-with a special fondness for journeys to Alaska. His adventurous spirit and appreciation for the outdoors were a daily source of joy. Larry married the love of his life, Ginny Schenck, in 1992. Together they built a warm and loving home, filled with laughter and the joy of family. He is survived by Ginny and his three daughters, Jessica Schenck, Amy (Jeremiah) McMahan, and Lisa (Mark) Kissler. He was a proud papa to Matthew (son of Jessica), Sam and Ben (sons of Amy and Jeremiah), and Amelia (daughter of Mark and Lisa). His family will forever treasure his guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and William Schenck Jr., and his siblings Marcia, Terry, and Bill. He leaves behind four additional siblings, Carol, Sam, Cindi and Sharon and their families. Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the memories he created and the wisdom of "rule number 23" that continues to echo in the lives of those he touched.
