Larry Keith Scherr, 70, formerly of Haverhill, MA, residing in
Wesley Chapel, FL. since 2018 passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at home.
He was born in Rhode Island on January 22, 1953, to the late Irving Scherr and Shirley (Sherman) Scherr. Larry lived in the Northeast for many years before moving to Florida in 2004. He loved basking in the Florida sunshine, yet always remained proud of his Northeast roots.
Larry was fiercely independent, self-driven and intellectually curious. He started working while still in middle school, to put himself through college, and graduated from the renowned Bentley College with a Degree in Business Management.
Throughout Larry's illustrious 50-year career, he used his business acumen and people skills to drive impact and change in the Technology, Healthcare and Banking industries. He was particularly proud of his years at Bearing Point where he put his consultant abilities to solving complex data quality problems and his long tenure at Hewlett Packard where he led Medicaid program quality assurance implementation in multiple states. He was the epitome of a diligent worker throughout his admirable career. Carrying through with his signature bright smile and can-do attitude.
He is survived by son Brian, daughter Rebecca, stepson Nicholas, granddaughter Gaia, daughter-in-law Lamia, brother Alan and an exceptionally long list of friends. He was shortly joined in death by Soula Hatsiandrou, his earthly and eternal love, partner of 27 years, and best friend. May they rest peacefully together eternally.
Larry's energetic attitude was contagious. He was kind, friendly, respectful, and generous. He could find ways to connect and strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone. His genuine interest in others and compassion earned him many friends along the way. Larry was an optimist at heart, in perpetual onward motion. He was a grill master extra ordinaire, loved tinkering in the garage, and meticulously caring for his garden. Larry absolutely loved to travel, explore new places and gain new experiences with Soula. Above all Larry loved his wife, children, and granddaughter whom he dotted on every Holiday, special occasion and annual family trips to Hilton head.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday October 23, 2023, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main Street, Bradford.
