Larry Sidebottom Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home - Versailles Chapel on Nov. 15, 2025.
Larry W. Sidebottom, age 86, of Versailles, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born September 13, 1939, in Morgan County, a son of the late Davis and Berness (Andrew) Sidebottom.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

On June 27, 1959, in Stover, at the Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Joan (Beal) Sidebottom.

Larry was a skilled carpenter, working for Dobbins Construction in Laurie for many years until his retirement. He continued his love of woodworking by whittling homemade wooden chains for each of his family members. His workshop became a place of service as much as creativity, where he spent countless hours making and repairing wooden items for friends, family, and his church community.

Larry was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Versailles.

His legacy of love, faith and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a family who loved him and a lifetime of memories grounded in faith, kindness and unwavering devotion. While he will be deeply missed, the love he shared remains a lasting gift to all who were blessed to be part of his life.

In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by his children, Michael Sidebottom and wife Brenda, Julie Kinder and husband Eric and Angela Hulse and husband Tom; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Milton Sidebottom and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Sidebottom, granddaughter, Dayna Sidebottom, brother, Vencil Sidebottom and sisters, Betty Calton and Roxanna Calton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 17th, at the First Assembly of God Church in Versailles with Pastor Blake Tiemann officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Monday, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
