Heather Lynne Sidebottom

Heather Lynne Sidebottom, beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 53. Heather was born on April 14, 1972, in Detroit, and resided in Chesterfield Township, MI, where she built a life rich with love and laughter.

Heather is survived by her loving husband, William Sidebottom, who stood by her side through all of life's adventures. Her brother, Mark Ragatzki, and her uncle, Mike (Paula) Ragatzki, along with her cherished niece, Britney, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Heather is also lovingly remembered by her cousins: Cathy (Joe) Vanfleteren, Ron Collins, Jeff Collins, Jason Collins, Stephen (Kyla) Ragatzki, Henry Ragatzki, Daniel Ragatzki, Stephanie (George) Hajal, Mallory Ragatzki, and Avery Ragatzki. Her extended family includes her parents-in-law, William and Carolyn Sidebottom, her sisters-in-law, Susie (Jerry) Witt and Lorie (Chad) Browe, and her nephews, Codie (Heather) Witt and Logan Witt.

Heather was predeceased by her parents, Mark and Diane Ragatzki, her grandparents, Paul F. and Marie A. Ragatzki, her aunt, Christine Collins, and her uncle, Paul A. Ragatzki. Though their loss was felt deeply, Heather carried their legacy with grace and dignity throughout her life.

Professionally, Heather dedicated herself to her work as a Medical Biller, a role in which her attention to detail and compassion for others shone brightly. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professionalism but also for her warm smile and generous spirit.

Heather's life was enriched by many dear friends and extended family, including her "adopted" parents Keith A. (Paoletta) Kazyaka, and close friends Stacey Thoms, Elena (Michael) Arini, and Sandy Teer. Each of these relationships was a testament to Heather's ability to touch the lives of those around her.

Heather's kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering support were gifts to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of everyone she encountered.

Visitation for Heather will be on Friday, Jan. 9th from 2-8 pm with a 7 pm service at Wasik Funeral Home-Gendernalik Chapel, 35259 23 Mile Rd. (New Baltimore)

Her family invites all who knew and loved her to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the life she lived so beautifully.
