William Weinmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasik Funeral Home - Gendernalik Chapel - New Baltimore on Mar. 11, 2026.
William John Weinmann, born March 7, 1942, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

The beloved son of William and Anna Weinmann and brother to Heide Rees, Bill built a life defined by devotion to his family, his work, and his community. He was the cherished husband of 61 years to Barbara (Douglas), with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, adventure, and unwavering love.

Bill was the proud father of six children, each of whom carries forward his spirit of curiosity and consistency: Cynthia (Michael) Kononovich, Michael (Deborah) Weinmann, Jeffrey (Kris) Weinmann, Jacqueline Weinmann, Jennifer (Jason) McBrien, and Joseph Weinmann and grandchildren Annelise, Katrina, Justin, Anthony, Zachary, Henry, Erin, and Elizabeth. His family was his greatest joy, and he delighted in watching his children and grandchildren grow. Over the years, Bill and Barb were foster parents to dozens of children.

For 35 years, Bill dedicated his talents to General Motors, where he was respected for his work ethic and decision making. After retiring, he embraced a new chapter with Findlay Industries, traveling the world & making business decisions from his hot tub.

A passionate amateur radio operator known by his call sign N8HZL, Bill was an active member of the Macomb County Emergency Management community. His commitment to service and preparedness reflected his deep desire to help others.

Bill found joy at Camp Weinmann, where he could often be found swimming, "playing lumberjack," or combing the land with his metal detector. Whether enjoying the cabin, on a road trip, or a cruise, he loved collecting memories that he preserved through the countless slide photographs.

Bill will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2 :00 p.m. Sharing of Memories Service, Sunday March 15, 2026 at the Wasik Funeral Home – Gendernalik Chapel, 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore.
