Mr. Larry Sinkfield was born on March 31, 1959, to Bobby Holyfield and Lucy Kate Bibb Sinkfield in Griffin, Georgia. He received his formal education in Griffin High School in Griffin, Georgia, graduating in the Class of 1974.
Larry accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. Larry was employed by the City of Atlanta, where he worked in the Sanitation Department until his retirement. In his leisure time he enjoyed listening to music, watching television, and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
On Friday, March 7, 2025, Mr. Larry Sinkfield's name was called, and he answered and was free from all sickness and pain. Rest now in peace and comfort, your journey has ended, battle fought, and victory won. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Holyfield, and Lucy Kate Sinkfield; daughter, Lakeisha Sinkfield; sisters, Katie Mae, Geraldine, Bobby Jean, and Brenda, and his brother, Sam.
Mr. Larry Sinkfield leaves a lasting legacy, full of loving memories his siblings, Linda Sinkfield, and Tony Sinkfield; his children, Shante Jackson, Sheneka Sinkfield, Lakeisha Hamilton, and Tamara Smith; a very special friend, Quandra (Tee-Tee) Wortham; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; special niece, Kesia; his whole Cascade family, and his brother-in-law, William McDaniel. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Burden's Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Burden's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pastor Gerod D. Duff is the Eulogist.
