Larry Sipple Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 18, 2011.
Larry R. Sipple, age 59, of Mondovi, formerly of the Menomonie area, went home to his risen Lord on Monday, April 18, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident on his way home from the evening shift at 3M. Larry was born in Menomonie, WI on October 29, 1951 the son of William and Janet (Boettcher) Sipple. He was baptized December 9, 1951 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and confirmed in May of 1965. He attended Waneka and Spring Brook grade schools and graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1969. He also later graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Stout). Larry started farming at an early age, after his father’s death in 1968. He was still enjoying the farm he now has. Larry has also worked at 3M in Menomonie since 1994. Larry enjoyed 4-H and showing cattle at the Dunn County Fair and he enjoyed fund raising projects with the 3M Club. He was an avid Packer fan and was a #4 Brett Favre fan to the end. He also enjoyed watching the Badgers, auto racing and many other sporting events. When he was younger, Larry was Santa Claus for many young children in his neighborhood. He was an outgoing person with many friends. He was generous and considerate especially of several of his colleagues with special needs. And he was a wonderful companion and caregiver for his mother with whom he lived until her death in November 2010. He will be sadly missed by many because of his humor, his friendliness and his kind spirit. Larry is survived by his sister, Clara (Chuck) Sletner of Altoona; and also survived by aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Janet Sipple, grandparents and many other family members. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. Burial will be in Iron Creek Cemetery in the Town of Spring Brook, Dunn Co., WI. There will be visitation at the church from Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family. Memorials to honor Larry may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Rawhide Ranch (Bart Starr) or the Chippewa Falls Christmas Village in Irvine Park.
