Larry "Bud" L Smith, a proud Navy veteran, devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, brother, uncle, bowling enthusiast, and true friend to all passed away peacefully on November 6 th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones at 85 years old.

Born on September 30 th, 1940. Bud lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and love. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying with him the values of honor, integrity, and service that would shape the rest of his life.

After his military service, Bud poured his heart into his family and community. He was the kind of man who made everyone feel special - always ready with a smile, a gentle joke, or a helping hand. His laughter filled every room, and his warmth could brighten even the coldest day.

Bud's greatest joy came from being with his family. He was a proud dad to Larry Alan, Mark, Lori, and a doting grandpa who loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren - whether sharing stories, giving big bear hugs, or cheering them on in all they did.

Bud had a special gift for bringing joy to others, especially during the holidays. Each year, he transformed into Santa Claus, spreading Christmas cheer to children and adults alike. With his twinkling eyes, jolly laugh, and big heart, Bud didn't just play Santa - he was Santa, embodying the very spirit of giving and love that defined him all year long.

He is survived by Cynthia Day, Lori (Robert) Gilroy, Survived by daughter in law Rhonda, grandsons Justin and Brady, sister Karen(Dennis)Woodrow, brothers Alan, Edward(Mary Ann) one nephew and five nieces, and was preceded in death by Dwight and Hazel Smith, first wife Carol Crawford, sons Larry Alan and Mark Todd, brother Dennis, sister-in-law Lynn Smith, niece Amber Pennington.

Bud will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, his deep love for family, and the way he made everyone feel special. His presence was a gift, and though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared will continue to warm our hearts for years to come.

A celebration of Bud's life will be held at 2:00 PM on November 22, 2025, at Bethel United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bethel United Methodist Church in Larry Bud Smith's memory - or simply take a moment to do something kind for someone else, just as Bud always did.

Fair winds and following seas, dear Bud. Your watch is complete, but your love lives on.
