Larry was born in Sandersville, Georgia to Edgar Porter Smith and Christine Houston Colley on May 18,1950. He was joined in marriage to Shirley A. Smith on December 10,1969 in Fayetteville, North Carolina and they remained married for 54 years.
Larry served in the Vietnam war and continued his military career in the United States Air Force as a medic until he retired in 1988 after serving 25 years and receiving awards, medals and certificates for his accomplishments.
Larry is survived by his 4 children, Shirley Mason, Eric Smith, Annette Smith, Angelo Smith; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; grandson and several other family members.
