Alice Smith Obituary
Alice Smith, age 100, of Elkhart, passed away at home on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
She was born May 19, 1925, in Goshen, Indiana, to Lester and Mary Etta (Stuart) Volz.
Alice is survived by her four daughters:Joan Koppy of Zionsville, IN; Sue (Don) Fowler of New Bern, North Carolina; Kathie Nichols of Elkhart, IN; and Mary Molnar of Elkhart, IN; as well as her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her previous spouses, Richard Fisher (married in 1944), William Butler (married in 1966), and Donald Smith (married in 2004); sister, Virginia Volz; brother, Max Volz; and grandson Adam Koppy.
Alice was a 1943 graduate of Goshen High School. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and crafting both professionally and in private life. She worked at Miles Laboratories, ran a farm and a home daycare, cooked for the St. Augustine Rectory, then enjoyed retirement in New Bern, NC and later in Goshen and Elkhart.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
