Carol Jean (Dunlap) Valencourt passed away on November 17, 2025.
She was born on September 29, 1929, in New Paris to Art and Belva (Martin) Dunlap. On July 2, 1949, she married Roy Valencourt, who preceded her in death in March 2004.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her four sons: René (Leslie) Valencourt, Joel Valencourt, Keith (Terry) Valencourt, and James Valencourt; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Donna (Max) Yoder of Sarasota, Florida; and her sister-in-law, Dolores Dunlap, Arlington, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and her brother, Richard Dunlap.
Carol was an avid and gifted tennis player, taking part in — and winning — many tournaments over the years. She shared her talents and time in a variety of roles throughout her life, including serving as a librarian, bus driver, and bakery clerk. A memorable part of Carol’s life was when she and her husband served as missionaries for six years in Ecuador and two years in Nigeria. She also cherished the years she spent living in North Carolina.
