Larry Francis Sposato, age 77, of Havana, passed away due to injuries sustained in a car accident while traveling to watch his great-grandsons play baseball.
Larry was born in Dayton, OH to MaryBelle Strickland and Francis Carmen Sposato but spent many years in Vero Beach, FL and had been a resident of Havana, FL for 20 years. He honorably served in the United States Army as a Medic in Okinawa. Larry retired from Piper aircraft as a Machinist and then worked for Walgreens where he was an Assistant Manager. He was a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed watching his grand and great-grandchildren play sports. Larry was a big John Wayne fan, collector of all things Western, and an avid reader.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Lee Sposato (Helene) of Severance, CO and Andrew David Sposato of Marianna, FL; siblings, Jean Esterby (Brian), Jim Sposato (Jessica) and Mike Sposato (Deborah) all of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Josh Sposato (Makaylah) of Headland, AL, Jay Taylor and Emilee Sposato of Gainesville, FL, Brooke Simmons of Windsor, CO, TJ Simmons of Vero Beach, FL and 3 great grandchildren, Braydon, Vander and Capri Sposato all of Headland, AL.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Tallahassee National Cemetery. In honor of Larry's love of all things denim and flannel we request the dress code be casual.
